Both maintain strict breed standards, issue full pedigree certificates going back several generations, and hold breeders to ethical standards for health, socialisation, and welfare. The WCF is based in Essen, Germany, with strong recognition across Europe, the Middle East, and Russia. The CFA is headquartered in the United States and is widely recognised across the Americas and Asia. A kitten registered with either body is a documented purebred with verified ancestry.
